I have joined an incredible writing group and for the last couple of sessions, we have used the prompt of “In this one…” where we take a photo and write an interpretation of what we see. The first was with a photo that I took and here it is:

In this one…
… you are looking over your shoulder. You are blissful, surrounded by those who love you more than anything in the world. You are wrapped in color and in pure love. There is curiosity on your face.
“What mom?” You’re asking.
Your eyes are so deep – there is so much knowledge there. You know things. It’s like this very special secret that only you hold and the rest of us are left here to wonder what powerful knowledge you have already.
Will you lose it? Will you hold on? Will it take you far or break you?
You look at us as though this is the most normal lace to be – in a backyard with people, a dog and goats. A tub of water and a tent. A bathing suit and a knitted, rainbow cape.
